What is Plasma Pen Skin Tightening?
Plasma Pen is a cosmetic treatment that tightens the skin non-surgically using ionized gas and plasma, resulting with the skin naturally tightening with effects similar to invasive surgery. The tightening effects can also be used to lift certain areas such as sagging eyelids, above the brows and above the lip to give them a fuller effect.
How it works:
When using the plasma pen device during the procedure, the tip of the device used will form a flash of plasma between itself and the skin, and through a process called sublimation the skin will instantly be tightened with no damage being caused to the deeper layers of skin or surrounding areas. The skin will then continue to tighten over 8 weeks after the procedure. Effects on the first layer of skin (epidermis)- Breaks down and kills bacteria and reduces sebaceous activity Effects on the second layer of skin (Dermis)-Temporarily disrupts the cell adhesion molecules (CAMS) which increases skin absorption rate, and tightens the aged skin by balancing the membrane potential. Also stimulates the Fibroblast cells for collagen and elastin production by stimulating the circulation of water molecules and increasing the heat and friction.
What is Plasma?
There are four states of matter - Sold, liquid, Gas and Plasma. Plasma often behaves like a gas, except that it conducts electricity and is affected by magnetic fields. If energy is applied to a Gas, it is ionized and can create a micro-electrical discharge known as plasma, the fourth state of matter. Plasma consists of loaded, ionized particles (electrons, protons and neutrons) which are conductive. We see plasma in nature in the form of the change from lightning or static electricity.

Plasma technology
The Plamere Plasma device can be used in many different ways to help improve skin concerns. When plasma is generated between the permeating tip and the skin surface the electroporation effect is caused, and depending on which setting is used on the device, can either help with opening up the skin layers for product penetration, smoothing out fine lines with collagen stimulation or spot treating acne as it releases adequate amounts of radicals, ultraviolet and heat to help improve the congestion. This is painless, however some people do experience a prickly sensation at times during the procedure of product penetration.
